Abstracting the mountain and valley gives us a triangular shape. A large equilateral triangle is subdivided into four, then nine, then sixteen. The geometry of the equilateral triangle, whose center is located one-third of the way up, allows us to extract and repeat on its exterior the union of fragments in which we abstract the mountain.

The composition on a plane based on these figures leads to the formal solution for the elevation, and its repetition in a rhythm throughout the shelter results in its structural solution. The large structure is inhabited by longitudinal spaces, some of which are for storage, these being the inverted triangles without glass seen in the elevation.

La gran estructura se habita con espacios longitudinales, algunos de almacenamiento, siendo éstos los triángulos invertidos sin vidrio vistos en el alzado.

The light changes in the mountain refuge throughout the day and the seasons. At dawn, the room is lit by the light from the east, and the terrace is illuminated. At midday, both the terrace and the dining room receive sunlight. The sun shines through the longitudinal spaces of the refuge. At dusk, the room receives the last rays of the day. At night, the large windows allow guests to contemplate the mountains and the night sky from any room in the refuge. The refuge provides visitors with a sheltered place to rest without leaving the mountains: a succession of paths ascends from the busiest public area, passing through more secluded and peaceful spaces, to the room, where guests can rest with their dreams, the mountains, and the starry night. The emergency shelter adapts to its surroundings and circumstances: in winter, when the area is covered with snow and the shelter is closed, it can be accessed directly from the southeastern part of the terrace. If there is not enough snow, stairs and a trapdoor allow access from below the northwestern part of the terrace. Even when it snows, the space covered by the shelters and the platform remains clear, allowing access to the engine room. The shelter provides visitors with a sheltered place to rest without leaving the mountain: a series of paths ascend from the most public and busy area of the shelter, passing through more secluded spaces and service areas, until reaching the bedroom, a place to find oneself and dialogue with one's dreams, the mountain, and the starry night.

La luz cambia en el refugio de montaña a lo largo del día y de las estaciones. Al amanecer la habitación la luz del este, y la terraza queda iluminada. Al mediodía tanto la terraza como el comedor reciben la luz del sol. El sol atraviesa los espacios longitudinales del refugio. Al anochecer, la habitación recibe los últimos rayos del día. Por la noche, las amplias cristaleras permiten desde cualquier estancia del refugio contemplar la montaña y el cielo nocturno. El refugio proporciona a los visitantes un lugar cobijado de descanso sin abandonar la montaña: una sucesión de caminos asciende desde la zona más pública y ajetreada, pasando por espacios más recogidos y tranquilos, hasta la habitación, el descanso de uno mismo con sus sueños, la montaña y la noche estrellada. El refugio de emergencias se adapta a su entorno y circunstancias: en invierno, cuando la zona se cubre de nieve y el refugio cierra, se accede directamente por la zona suereste de la terraza. En caso de que no haya nieve suficiente, unas escaleras y una trampilla permiten el acceso por debajo de la parte noroeste de la terraza. Aunque nieve, el espacio cubierto por los refugios y la plataforma queda despejado, permitiendo así el paso a la sala de máquinas. El refugio proporciona a los visitantes un lugar resguardado de descanso sin abandonar la montaña: una sucesión de caminos asciende desde la zona más pública y ajetreada del refugio, pasando por espacios más recogidos y de servicios, hasta llegar al dormitorio, un lugar para encontrase a uno mismo y dialogar con sus sueños, la montaña y la noche estrellada.
